About Me
My name is Laurence George and I am a trusted and helpful Whitstable based multi trade professional covering the East Kent area specialising in general property maintenance and disabled adaptations.
My main skill is carpentry but I have also gained my City & Guilds qualification in 18th edition domestic electrics, City & Guilds qualified to install EV Charging Points as well as becoming a Howdens accredited kitchen fitter. My main key skill set includes kitchen installations, storage solutions, Catio’s/Garden buildings, decking, general carpentry including doors, stairs, furniture repairs, flooring, building interior stud walls, locksmithing, sash and double glazed window repairs, domestic electrics, general plumbing, bathroom refurbs, finding water leaks, tiling, interior wall/ceiling repairs and painting, general maintenance and adaptations.
I am constantly working to learn new skills and expand my knowledge. Currently working on getting myself NIC/EIC registered. I am also looking to get myself trained up and qualified in providing DC power solutions including Solar, etc. I am also expanding into doing set building for film projects.
I am DBS checked and fully insured and here is a little bit about me and my company aMelius Home Maintenance & Adaptations.
In May 2019 I decided to return back to working for myself locally using the skills I have acquired over the many years to the present day. I am a family man and an individual who can ‘think outside the box’. I am customer focused, trustworthy and reliable with integrity and sensitivity to the needs of those that may require special adaptations in their homes to make their life more comfortable and prolonging their independence.
Why aMelius? aMelius evolved from the Latin word Melius (meaning: improvement, better) and with an additional touch of the first initial from my daughters first name. I offer a free quotation service so please do not hesitate to give me a call and I will gladly come and provide a quote for you.
In my spare time on top of my family commitments – I volunteer to help out at The Whitstable Playhouse theatre building sets for some of the performances there which involves a lot of carpentry work and imagination. I have also volunteered to help the WhitSparkle community group in any way I can, including help with setup and supplying/running the PA system at their main Christmas Event over the last couple of years. I also like to help and support other local community initiatives as and when they arise.
Thank you for reading and I look forward to hearing from you.
